Postal History / Anglo-Boer War period 1902 (29th March), locally addressed mourning envelope sent at the unsealed open-letter rate. Bearing a single ‘Hope Standing’ ½d green (SG 58) tied by a G.P.O. Cape Town (29 Mar) double circle datestamp and with a large PASSED / CAPE / TOWN / PRESS CENSOR cachet struck alongside. A scarce example of this stamp used alone on cover.
