1963 ½c decimal definitives coil stamps. A highly specialised collection comprising eight of the ten 'proving' strips, less no. 1 and 4. Each in a strip of 22 or 24, and mounted on album pages, along with all relevant plating details. Superb unmounted. A remarkable assembly which would be almost impossible to replicate today. SG 198b
Note: this coil duty was printed in strips of 220 stamps. Examination of the intact strip revealed numerous small flaws, which can be used to identify the 'position' of individual proving strips. |
