1951 27th March, attractive printed 'SUN INSURANCE' policy (now folded for display), applied with KGVI 4d, 10d x four and 5/- regular issues (SG 43, 47, 52), cancelled violet oval cachet. Most attractive.
Note: the duty on insurance policies for buildings and household effects was 1d for every £100 or part thereof insured. In this case the house was insured for £10 000 and furniture for £400, thus making the duty 104d, or 8/8d |
