Postal History 1898 (7th November), 15c blue postal stationery card with message headed ‘Lokandu’ and dated ‘28 Oct 98’. Addressed to England, cancelled with STANLEY FALLS (7 Nov) single circle datestamp with additional very fine strike on the reverse, both struck in blue. Léopoldville (24 Nov) and Boma (27 Nov) transit datestamps, all struck on the front. With boxed straight-line cachet reading BOMA CARTE INCOMPLÈTE. The datestamps indicate a routing north to Stanley Falls near Stanleyville (present day Kisangani) on the Congo River, then presumably along the river to Leopoldville (now Kinshasa), then, a month after writing, to Boma on the coast.
