AN294
TELEGRAM 1917 (25th September), headed ‘THE AFRICAN TRANSCONTINENTAL TELEGRAPH COMPANY, LIMITED.’ The message, concerning military matters, was handed in at Songea (GEA) and a ZOMBA / A.T. TEL (25 Sep) single circle datestamp was applied by the delivering office. Interestingly, the form states the Telegraph Company observes ‘Rhodesian Mean Time’. Most unusual and a scarce survivor.
