| 1966 (June), airmail envelope sent from Johannesburg to Kitwe. Bearing a South Africa 3c definitive tied by a Johannesburg (6 June) machine cancellation. A bilingual two line ‘INSUFFICIENTLY FRANKED FOR AIRMAIL’ cachet was struck in violet and ‘T4d’ added in manuscript. The shortfall was receipted by Zambia 1d and 3d postage dues (SG D11, D13) which were affixed and tied by KITWE (15 Jun) double circle datestamps. Also with ‘By Train’ added in manuscript below the address. Unusual. |
