1959 (15th March), envelope addressed to South Africa. Bearing QEII ½d orange-red (SG 1) strip of four tied by GENERAL POST OFFICE / SALISBURY, S. RHODESIA (15 Mar) oval datestamps struck in violet. With circular ‘T/1D’ tax marking and endorsed ‘TAX 1d’ in red manuscript. The shortfall was receipted by a South African postage due 1d (SG D39) which was affixed and tied by a Yeoville Depot (24 Mar with ‘3’ at sides, unlisted in Putzel / Visser) double circle datestamp. Folded vertically between stamps.
