1935 4th May, envelope bearing KGV Silver Jubilee set of four (SG 11-14), each clearly cancelled 'MASERU' on the First Day of Issue. Sent registered Airmail to the Cape, arrival backstamp (7th May). Fine and clean.
Note: the actual Silver Jubilee of KGV was on Monday 6th May. However, that day was a public holiday in Basutoland, so it was decided to bring the issue date forward to the previous Saturday |
