MISSIONARY MAIL, 1910 (10th November), BSAC 1d red postal stationery card (H&G 11) addressed to the Reverend Duby in Basutoland. The message (in French) is headed “Sefula / Lealui P.O. / N.W. Rhodesia” and dated “9th Nov. 1910”. The impressed stamp is cancelled with a very fine strike of the LEALUI / N.W. RHODESIA (10 Nov) double circle datestamp and there is an equally fine LIVINGSTONE / N.W. RHODESIA (25 Nov) transit datestamp alongside. With partial Morija (2 Dec) arrival backstamp. A small tear at foot does not unduly detract, otherwise very fine. Scarce mail from this Mission Station in Barotseland which was founded by Francois Coillard on behalf of the Paris Missionary Society in 1886. The message is signed "F(rancois) Escande".
