1913-24 KGV (watermark Simple Cypher). ½d to 1/-, each overprinted ‘SPECIMEN’ (Samuel type GB23 / Holmes type 13). The 1d with small tear and odd short perf, otherwise very fine and fresh mint. A very rare set. SG 73s-82s
Note: Only the 1/- was supplied to the UPU with this overprint and is the only duty listed by SG. The 1½d (issued in 1920) is not recorded with this overprint. Holmes (p184) states "The ½d to 6d with this 'overprint' are rare." They are recorded as ‘abnormals’ in the 1983 supplement to the ‘Specimen Stamps of the Crown Colonies’ by Marcus Samuel (1976).
