POSTAL HISTORY
AC858
Postal History 1869 (January), entire addressed to Willowmore (message concerns an outstanding debt). Bearing a single 1868 provisional ‘Four Pence.’ on 6d deep lilac (SG 27) tied by a Cape Town (19 Jan) duplex datestamp. With an unframed circular 'WILLOW' (22 Jan) arrival (?) datestamp struck on the front. Filing creases, one of which affects the adhesive. Scarce example of this provisional used alone on cover.

Note: there appears to be some confusion if 'Willow' was the original post office name for Willowmore.
