MISSIONARY MAIL 1908 (23rd April), BSAC 1d red postal stationery card (H&G 11) addressed to the ‘Famille Bourquin-Fatton’ in Geneva, Switzerland. The message (in French) is written cross-hatched and headed “Sefula” and dated “23 Avril 1908” The impressed stamp is cancelled with a large part strike of the LEALUI / N.W. RHODESIA (22 APR) double circle datestamp. Scarce mail from this Mission Station in Barotseland which was founded by Francois Coillard on behalf of the Paris Missionary Society in 1886. Believed to have been written by the Missionary the Rev John Roulet as this matches a similar, identified card in the Flanagan collection. In very fine condition.
