1963 30th October, printed Sports-Pools airmail cover posted unpaid from Bulawayo and addressed to Salisbury. Endorsed in ink 'T 6d', and then applied with vertical marginal pair QEII 2/- grey-green and carmine (SG 27), each with a large CANCELLED strike. HIGHLY UNUSUAL.

Note: accompanying this cover is a copy of a letter written by R. C. Smith (Deputy Postmaster General) in response to an enquiry from The Salisbury Stamp Company (Derrick Pollard). In this he states that the high charge applied would have been for a number of underpaid items to the same addressee, thus reflecting a pool charge for the group. He further states that the large CANCELLED hand stamp would normally have been used to cancel Telegrams.
