| 1884 (12th Aug), envelope addressed to England, bearing 1883 Celliers re-issue 1d black and 3d pale red (3, in markedly different shades, and each trimmed on one side). All stamps are tied by ‘1’ in concentric circles and with PRETORIA TRANSVAAL (AU 12) single circle despatch datestamp alongside. Part of flap missing, not affecting clear Cape Town (19 Aug) transit and Welwyn (10 Sep) arrival backstamps. A scarce franking.
