| 1970 19th August, Air Mail letter sheet bearing 2½c and 5c definitives (SG 441, 443) plus GB 5d Commonwealth Games, cancelled 'HIGHLANDS', although not the GB adhesive. Addressed to England and upon arrival applied with printed 'SOUTHERN RHODESIAN STAMPS (etc.)' label and struck with green 'STAMPS NOT VALID' cachet. This endorsed '6d' and duly applied with GB 6d due cancelled '28 AU'. Unusual and innovative, apparently not charged at the correct rate. |
