1899 (May), small envelope addressed to England bearing a single 2½d tied by a light but readable CLEVELAND (8 MEI) double circle datestamp. Bearing an ornate multicoloured coat-of-arms affixed at upper left. Backstamped with a Reigate (26 May) single circle skeleton datestamp. Includes original illustrated lettersheet with message headed “Jumpers G.M.Co.L.” The area around Jumpers Gold Mining Company Limited was later renamed ‘Cleveland’. Charming.
