1903 (December), black and white picture postcard (Krugersdorp – Monument Of Independence.’) Addressed to England and bearing a single KEVII ½d (SG 244) tied by two strikes of a KRUGERSDORP (7 Dec) double circle datestamp. The card was underpaid and marked accordingly with a small circular ‘T/VII’ (presumably the assigned code for Krugersdorp). A large ‘1D/F.B./C.’ marking was applied on arrival in England along with a Welwyn (26 Dec) arrival datestamp. The tax markings with Roman numerals at base are scarce. Very fine. |
