| 1892 (24th February), envelope addressed to Cape Town bearing a horizontal pair of 1891 1d carmine-red (SG 31) with the right stamp showing the ‘l’ of ‘Bechuanaland’ largely omitted. Tied by a ‘555’ BONC with a proving VRYBURG (24 Feb) single circle datestamp struck below. Cape Town (26 Feb) arrival backstamp. The flap with a small embossed dragon. Some perimeter faults, not affecting the adhesives. A scarce issue on cover. |
