| 1965 (26th October), 2c ‘Hoopoe’ postal stationery card (BBS PC23) cancelled with a GABERONES VILLAGE (26 Oct) double circle datestamp. Addressed to South Africa with the message on the reverse concerning a request for Tswana music or songs for sale. Extremely rare commercial use of this card. We have previously sold two used examples of the Botswana 2c Hoopoe card, but this is the first commercially used example of Protectorate card we have ever handled. A modern rarity. |
