| FORGERY 1889 QV ½d vermilion surcharged ‘Protectorate / Fourpence’. Horizontal pair, each stamp showing non-existent variety ‘Fourpence’ double. Superb used, each stamp cancelled with a genuine PALACHWE KHAMAS TOWN (29 JA / 90) single circle datestamps. Apparently created using genuine used examples of SG 54 which have been ‘improved’ by the addition of both ‘Fourpence’ surcharges. Imaginative. SG 53 variety forgery.
