1888 ½d vermilion overprinted ‘Protectorate’ (15½mm).
BLOCK OF SIXTY
(6x10) comprising the right half of an upper pane with margins on three sides. From the 2nd setting (shiny overprint on brighter vermilion) with the marginal rules squared at the corners. Showing a marked variety in the intensity of the overprint inking. Stamp [11] of the pane shows a raised ‘r’ and [58] a dropped ‘e’. Diagonal crease affects four stamps and gum rather patchy otherwise very fine fresh mint. A very scarce and impressive multiple. SG 40
