| 1888 ½d vermilion overprinted ‘Protectorate’ (15½mm). A COMPLETE UPPER PANE OF 120 (12x10) with margins on three sides. From the 1st setting (dull over-print on dull vermilion) without the marginal rule (also characteristic of this printing). Position [60] shows the constant variety damaged first ‘o’ of 'Protectorate' (which completely failed to print on a few of the high values). Many letters are out of alignment and some are partially doubled due to a ‘kiss print’. Some creasing as to be expected, with most stamps very fine or superb fresh unmounted mint. A very rare and spectacular multiple. SG 40
