Die III, Surcharges, 1922 white paper printings, Postal History and Stationery
MA1631
8d, deep reddish lilac and deep blue-green. A remarkably narrow stamp, perforations at left well into design and at a slight angle. Most unusual. SG 268 var.

Note: the major variety of this printing, imperforate vertically, shows at the end of the complete strip of five, a similarly narrow stamp with the perforations running into the design of the stamp and also at a slight angle - although at the right of the stamp (see lot 721, Gibbs Admiral sale). Could the above stamp somehow be from this same sheet?
