Postal History 1941 30th July, cover bearing KGVI 3d (SG 42a), lightly cancelled 'ASCENSION'. Reverse struck with violet 'Officer Commanding Troops' handstamp endorsed in ink 'Censored' and duly signed. Addressed to England. Very scarce.
Note: this handstamp believed to have been used by the detachment of Royal Artillery at Ascension Island between March 1941 and June 1942 |
