| 1953 30th May, envelope addressed to Salisbury, bearing a Bulawayo Rhodes Centenary Exhibition datestamp (30th May, the first day of issue) franked with an uncancelled Northern Rhodesia 1953 Rhodes Centenary Exhibition 6d (SG 59). The stamp was marked disallowed by a line drawn around it and a ‘T4d’ tax marking was added in manuscript at left. The shortfall was receipted with a Southern Rhodesia postage due 4d blue (SG D5) which was affixed to the reverse and tied by a Causeway (8 June) double circle datestamp with a second, larger strike alongside. |
