AM860
KUT / Postage Dues. 1942 (15th July), underpaid and re-addressed envelope bearing a KGVI 20c black and orange (SG 139a) tied by a NAKURU (15 JY) double ring datestamp. With a very fine OL’ KALOU (27 JY) arrival datestamp alongside. The envelope was reposted to Kinangop, apparently without adding a new stamp and shows GILGIL (28 JY) and NAIVASHA (29 JY) transit backstamps. The stamp has pencil drawn around (presumably to indicate it being disallowed having already been used) and a large ‘T40’ taxe marking was added in blue manuscript. The tax was receipted by eight 5c violet postage dues (SG D7) being affixed to the reverse and tied by KINANGOP (29 JY) arrival datestamps. Some flap damage, not affecting the stamps.
