BECHUANALAND / Stellaland / Warren Expedition 1885 (10th March), incoming envelope from England bearing two QV 6d dull green (SG 194, one with corner fault) tied by a clear Aldershot / 789 duplex (MR 10). Addressed to Lieutenant Ralph W. Anstruther who was the Officer Commanding No. 1 Section, Telegraph Battalion, Royal Engineers, then serving with the Bechuanaland Field Force. With Aldershot Camp (MR 10), Cape Town (Apr 1?) and Barkly G.W. (AP 6) origin / transit backstamps. Some perimeter faults and a repair to the flap. A rare example of incoming mail addressed to a member of the Warren Expedition.
