| BRITISH BECHUANALAND 1893 (18th December), envelope addressed to the Cape, bearing a single QV ‘Jubilee’ 2d grey-green and carmine (SG 34) tied by a TAUNGS STATION (DE 18) single circle datestamp with a second, superb strike alongside. Backstamped Kimberley (DE 18), Midland Down (TPO) (DE 20) and Port Elizabeth (DE 20) transit / arrival datestamps. The flap roughly opened and some light discolouration. A remarkably scarce postmark on cover, used before annexation. |
