| BECHUANALAND PROTECTORATE 1922 (9th May), envelope sent registered to East London, South Africa, bearing an example of the KGV postal fiscal 1d scarlet (SG F3) used together with six KGV 1d scarlet postage stamps (SG 74). All stamps are tied by large GABERONES STATION (9 MAY 1922) double circle datestamps. Backstamped with a further strike of the Gaberones Station (9 May) datestamp and an East London (13 May) arrival datestamp. Very rare commercial use of this postal fiscal with few covers recorded. |
