POSTAL HISTORY 1900 (11th December), censored envelope sent registered to England. Bearing a combination of issues, comprising V.R.I. first printing (level stops) 1s. with subsequent printing (raised stops) 1d, 2d, 3d, 6d and 5s and Cape ½d and 2½d stamps overprinted. All tied by BLOEMFONTEIN / O.R.C. (11 DEC) single circle datestamps. With ‘PASSED CENSOR H.P.V.’ cachet struck in violet. London (5 Jan) arrival struck in red on the front and backstamped with a Cape Town (DE 14) transit datestamp. Philatelically inspired, though a scarce high face value (7s.3d.) on cover.
