| Postal History 1874 (August), envelope with 'From CAPE OF GOOD HOPE' imprint in carmine upper left, bearing 6d pale lilac (SG 25), cancelled crisp '1' barred oval and 'Cape Town AU 11 74' sc datestamp alongside. Addressed to Holland and endorsed at top 'Per Donald Currie's Line'. Red crayon accounting and further red 'PD' and 'SHIP LETTER' strikes on front, Amsterdam arrival on reverse. Most attractive. |
