| 1893 20th April, printed black on cream 'promise to pay' note, headed at upper right 'Salisbury'. The note refers to a sum of £300 to be paid 'to the Hon. C. J. Rhodes' at the Standard Bank Salisbury, eight months after issue. Reverse applied with strip of three 1/- Arms (SG 4), cancelled in ink. An extraordinary item from the very early settler period. |
