VRYBURG (British re-occupation) (1900) envelope bearing 1d Hope Standing, initialled "C.St.Q" and cancelled by Vryburg handstamp without date. Un-addressed as are most. Some creasing at lower left. Very scarce.
 
Note: after the British re-occupation of Vryburg on 8 May 1900 Cape stamps were initialled "C.St.Q" by the Intelligence Officer Clifford St. Quintin and were used in the town. These were applied by the Post Office and cancelled with the circular Vryburg handstamp without date. Subsequently Transvaal stamp were overprinted "V.R./SPECIAL/POST".
