| BRITISH BECHUANALAND / Revenue usage 1890 (6th June), large printed document (258x480mm) headed with Coat-of-Arms and ‘British Bechuanaland / CERTIFICATE OF OWNERSHIP’. Bearing a horizontal strip of four unappropriated dies £1 lilac and black (SG 20), each pair with ‘Cancelled’ and signatures and each stamp dated ‘6-6-90’, all in red manuscript. Signed at the base ‘Sidney Shippard’ and with plain circular embossed seal ‘Administrator / (Arms) / British Bechuanaland’. The document slightly trimmed, the stamps are superb. An impressive document and franking. |
