| Postal History 1877 (June), blue envelope with contents bearing 4d blue pair (SG 24a), cancelled clear triangular strike and at lower left unclear but legible oval 'EBENEZER JY 19 1877' datestamp. Addressed to Cape Town and upon arrival struck with uncommon pointed oval 'REGISTERED JU 22 77' datestamp. The letter enclosed an order to Burmester to the value of £6, and a money order enclosed, no doubt the reason for the registration. Attractive. |
