AC988
Postal History 1905 (10th February), incoming picture postcard from England with colour view of the River Wye, Derbyshire. Addressed to Cape Town and bearing a single KEVII 1d scarlet tied by a Manchester (10 Feb) squared circle datestamp. The card received a Cape Town (28 Feb) arrival datestamp. However, it was determined the addressee had moved to the Transvaal and the card received a further Cape Town (11 Mar) datestamp and was readdressed to Johannesburg. A fine strike of the REPOSTED boxed cachet and a ‘½D’ tax mark were applied though the lack of a postage due stamp suggests no tax was collected. Both these instructional markings are scarce.
