| NIGER COAST PROTECTORATE / Postal History 1897 (8th January), envelope addressed to England bearing a single QV 2½d pale blue (SG 54a) tied by a light WARRI (JA 8) squared circle struck in red and a second very fine strike on the reverse along with a FORCADOS RIVER (JA 9) single circle transit. Liverpool (6 Feb) transit struck in red on the front and Stoke-on-Trent (7 Feb) arrival backstamp. Folded vertically, otherwise fine and attractive. |
