Postal History 1878 (7th November), incoming envelope from England addressed to Cape Town. Bearing three examples (pair and single) of the QV 6d grey (plate 16, SG 147) with interpanneau margin at left, tied by London / ‘94’ (7 Nov) duplex cancellations. The adhesives are perfinned ‘DL&Co’ (Duff, Last and Co, confirmed by embossing on flap). No Cape markings though endorsed on the reverse as received on the 29th November. Crease and some crumpling and the adhesives with some staining, otherwise a fine example of a triple weight letter to the Cape.
