Postal History 1886 (11th September), envelope addressed within the Cape. Bearing a single 2d pale bistre (SG 42) tied by a neat ‘596’ Barred Oval Numeral Canceller with a superb proving MINARD (11 Sep) single circle datestamp struck at left. The reverse with CALA (11 Sep) transit and Queens Town (13 Sep) arrival datestamps. The adhesive with small red ink mark and the envelope with pin hole, otherwise a very fine and attractive example of the 2d per half ounce rate.
