| 1906 (20th April), ‘Tamsen’ envelope addressed in his distinctive hand and sent registered to Funchal, Madeira. Bearing 6½d in postage comprising KEVII ½d yellow-green, 1d black and carmine (pair), 1d scarlet (pair) and a 2d black and purple (SG 246, 261, 273, 274) all tied by NYLSTROOM (20 Apr) double circle datestamps. Also showing a large ‘R’ within an oval struck in black. The reverse with Nylstroom (20 Apr), Johannesburg (21 Apr), Cape Town (24 Apr) and Funchal (8 May) transit / arrival backstamps. |
