Postal History 1892 (19th September), envelope addressed and sent registered to England. Bearing a ½d black, ‘2½d’ surcharge on 3d deep magenta (pair) and 6d reddish purple (SG 48, 52, 55a), all tied by ‘2’ Barred Oval Numeral Cancellers. With proving Port Elizabeth (SP 19) oval registration datestamp and London (8 OC) transit struck on the front. Backstamped with Cape Town (21 SP) transit and Colchester (OC 120) arrival datestamps. The 6d with corner fault, otherwise a fine example of a triple 2½d per half ounce rate plus 4d registration fee.
