| REVENUE / Assize Stamps 1923-56 collection / accumulation of Assize overprints acquired over a number of years. Comprising 93 stamps, issues represented include overprints on: KGV postage 1d; KGV small format revenues; 1d ‘Ship’ with left and right ‘A’ halves; Native Tax 2/6; KGVI 1938-42 issue to £5, some showing 'A' on left half; KGVI 1946-52 issue to £5 including a separated pair of 6d showing ‘A’ and ‘B’ halves, some with and without value, small and large ‘ASSIZE’, 6d and 2/- with transposed plates; both recorded ‘bantam’ duties; QEII 1954 and Arms revenue overprints complete. Some duplication, though many have differing layouts / fonts etc. Most with hinge remnants and a few faults as to be expected, otherwise fine used. A rare group. |
