1926 (30th August), locally addressed envelope with fancy ‘UNITED TRANSVAAL DIRECTORY COY., LTD’ printed at top in red and blue. Bearing a single Springbok ½d (SG 30) tied by a JOHANNESBURG (AUG 30) machine roller cancellation with bilingual slogan ‘FRUIT FOR HEALTH / VRUGDE VIR GESONDHEID’. The envelope was endorsed ‘BOOK POST’ and was sent unsealed to qualify for the ½d printed matter rate. Attractive. |
