1924 KGV Admiral 1½d. Major variety IMPERFORATE BETWEEN, HORIZONTAL PAIR. Lower right corner strip of three, running sheet number '1' in margin. Hinge strengthened at right to margin, the variety pair remaining unmounted. SPECTACULAR AND RARE. SG 3a
Note: until recently it was thought only one sheet showing this variety existed, resulting in 12 such pairs possible. However, a second marginal example recently surfaced and so this must be increased to 24 pairs. Of those, only 12 have been recorded, including one used on envelope. Of those 12, only one other off the right margin is known, and thus proving the variety occurred between positions 18-19. This corner strip is by far the most important and desirable of the remaining pieces |
