LESOTHO 1966 (27th October), QEII 5c embossed registered postal stationery envelope addressed to Maseru. Bearing QEII 2½c and 5c definitives (probably SG 66, 68), tied by MAFETENG (27 Oct) double circle datestamps. With Maseru (28 Oct) arrival datestamp struck on the front. Attractive.
Note: Basutoland attained independence and was renamed Lesotho on the 4th October 1966, three weeks before this item was mailed and four days before the definitives overprinted 'LESOTHO' were issued.
