| Revenue 1906 (20th December), four page printed Deed of Transfer document (212x342mm) for ‘The Royal Hotel (1906) Limited’, situated on Plein Street, Cape Town. The transaction value was £30,000 and the stamp duty was receipted by the affixing of £107 in revenue stamps, comprising one ‘Hope Standing’ £5 grey-green and blue-green, FIVE examples of the £20 grey-green and deep carmine and one KEVII £2 grey-green and yellow-green (Barefoot 142, 143, 156), each stamp tied / cancelled with DEEDS REGISTRY / CAPE TOWN (20 DE 06) crowned oval datestamps. A spectacular and very rare franking. |
