| 1915 (22nd October), WWI period incoming stampless envelope addressed to ‘Inspector of Works / Gaberones’ and endorsed ‘On Service’ at upper left. The reverse bears a large, illustrated ‘R.A.T.A.’ design printed in brown. The reverse with originating large segmented BASE OFFICE / E (22 Oct) double circle datestamp (East African Forces) and GABERONES / B.P (12 Dec) arrival datestamps. Repaired flap tear, otherwise very fine and most unusual. |
