POSTAL HISTORY 1900 (26th October), Anglo-Boer War period. Envelope sent registered to England, bearing nine different adhesives with a face value of 7s.3½d. Comprising subsequent printings with raised stops: ½d (with Small ‘½’), 1d, 2d, 3d, 6d, 1s and 5s with ORC overprints on Cape: ½d and 2½d (SG 112f, 113, 114, 117, 120, 121, 122, 133, 135), all tied by BLOEMFONTEIN (26 Oct) single circle datestamps with ‘19’ for year and ‘OVS’ excised. London (16 and 17 Nov) arrival datestamps struck on the front and back. A tad philatelic and an expensive outlay at the time.
