| Postal History 1895 (8th July), QV 1d postal stationery card surcharged ‘ONE / HALFPENNY.’ addressed to Cape Town. The imprinted stamp cancelled with a ‘401’ barred oval numeral canceller with a proving GENADENDAL (8 Jul) single circle datestamp at left. With a Cape Town (9 Jul) arrival struck on the front. The message is headed ‘Training School, Genadendal’ and concerns an order for books. |
