1906 KEVII issue ½d blue-green overprinted ‘SPECIMEN’ (Samuel type GB16) in black. Gum creasing at top otherwise fine mint with hinge remnants. Brandon opinion (2011) stating the overprint is Type 20. SG 66s var.
Note: identical SPECIMEN overprints on ½d and 2½d duties were offered as lot 1163 in the John Inglefield-Watson sale (Oct, 2007) and were stated to emanate from the National Postal Museum Archives auction held in 1984. This stamp presumably shares the same provenance.
